Being driven into the wilderness can reveal life-changing truths: what we hold most dearly shapes our very identity and purpose.
This year, Dr. Ree Boddé and Rev’d Dr. Hugh Kempster collaborate to present a thought-provoking exploration of the Lenten journey. They offer six reflections that aim to guide individuals in delving deeper into their spiritual path. These meditations touch on various themes, including the profound impact of love, the significance of sacred spaces, and the process of self-discovery.

Praying for our partners
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer Romans 12:12
Ahli Arab Hospital, Gaza
(Director: Suhaila Tarazi)
Please pray for our partner, Al Ahli Arab Hospital in Gaza, which has been forced to close by the Israel Defence Force. Daily, the hospital was seeing 300 patients and was the only facility in Gaza undertaking surgeries. The hospital has been forced to evacuate all patients, staff and vulnerable people seeking shelter. Please pray that those requiring urgent medical services will receive desperately needed care. Please pray that the hospital will be protected and allowed to reopen. Please continue to pray for a ceasefire and the release of all hostages.
Diocese of Nampula, Mozambique
(Project Leader: Muassite Miguel)
Give thanks to God for our generous and dedicated supporters, whose contributions have enabled the Diocese of Nampula to continue reaching new communities with life-saving medical information. We eagerly anticipate the growth in understanding of disease prevention, malnutrition, and support for essential health services.
Please pray for Muassite and her team as they implement the Abundant Life program in new communities. May they be granted the wisdom, knowledge, and strength to support communities throughout the Diocese of Nampula.
Afar Pastoralist Development Association (APDA), Ethiopia
(Director: Valerie Browning)
Mighty God, we lift up the Afar community to you. They endure many challenges. We ask that the spread of Cholera cease. We pray that the soap-making project ADPA is developing will ensure that health workers, birth attendants, and the Afar community can access soap to prevent diseases.
We give thanks that, through ADPA’s hard work, the Afar community is learning to be resilient despite the impacts of climate change on their daily lives. Thank you that they are learning to grow vegetables. We pray that you will continue to support them as they learn new ways to combat malnutrition. Protect their crops and kitchen gardens; may they be sources of great nutrients for all.
Australia
As we prepare for the combined school service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on July 25th, we invite you to join us in prayer for our students and the work of AOA. Your prayers are vital in fostering a compassionate and proactive spirit among young people. As we share about the work our partner is doing in Kenya, please pray that students will be open, engaged, and inspired to make a positive difference in God’s world.
