In northern Mozambique, knowledge saves lives. Here is how your EOFY gift helps families prevent disease and stay healthy.
According to the 2025 World Giving Report, 44% of Australians say knowing how their donations are spent would encourage them to give more.
Here is exactly what your gift to AOA’s EOFY appeal achieves. Give before 30 June to combine your impact with Australian Government funding.
$30 trains a community health volunteer
In northern Mozambique, a volunteer may be the only reliable source of health education.
A $30 gift trains one of these volunteers to go door-to-door, sharing guidance on how to prevent illness, use mosquito nets correctly and spot warning signs early.
Where access to care is limited, that knowledge is what families have.

$220 delivers health messages to remote communities
Distance shouldn't determine whether someone gets the health information they need, but for many remote communities, it does.
A single bicycle puts a trained volunteer on the road, bringing preventative health messages directly to families who would otherwise miss out.
The ripple effect is real: earlier treatment, healthier habits, and communities better equipped to advocate for their own wellbeing.

$500 gives children the knowledge to protect themselves
Growing up with knowledge about your own health changes what is possible.
A $500 gift supports health and life-skills education for children and young people, helping them understand how to protect themselves from preventable illness and make informed decisions about their wellbeing.
For many children in the region, this kind of teaching does not yet exist. This is what your support makes possible.

$1,000 supports clean water, hygiene and sanitation
Only 14% of children under five in Mozambique live in households with basic handwashing facilities.
A $1,000 gift helps families understand and adopt simple daily practices like proper handwashing, improved sanitation and reducing how disease moves through a household.
These are not complicated solutions. They are just out of reach for too many families.

There's still time to give
Please help write a new ending to their story by donating before 30 June.
The Australian Government is helping our cause. For every donation you make to this project it will be combined with funding from the Australia NGO Cooperation Program to reach more people and extend this vital program.
