Nepal Flood Disaster Appeal

Families in Nepal urgently need shelter, food and safe water after a devastating flash flood.

On 26 August, a sudden and powerful flash flood tore through Nepal’s Bhote Koshi and Trishuli river systems. A surge of water, ice, rocks and debris swept through towns and remote mountain areas, destroying homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure.

Early reports indicate that at least 389 lives have been lost and more than 677 people are missing. Search and rescue operations remain underway, and the full scale of the disaster is still emerging.

Families have been displaced and cut off from essential services. Damaged roads and bridges are making it difficult to reach some of the worst-affected areas. Immediate needs include emergency shelter, food, safe drinking water, hygiene supplies, medical care and protection.

Funds raised through this appeal will be provided through ACT Alliance to support International Nepal Fellowship's response. International Nepal Fellowship has served the people of Nepal since 1952.

INF Nepal has begun assessing urgent needs and coordinating with local authorities and other responders in Dhading and Nuwakot. Its initial response includes emergency shelter materials and blankets, with further assistance to be guided by the needs identified on the ground.
