“She is clothed with strength and dignity, and she laughs without fear of the future.”   Proverbs 31:25

Easter is a wonderful reminder that Jesus died so that all people can live in freedom. As we continue to share the freedom Christ brings to the world, we grieve for the millions of women who live in fear of gender-based violence, those trapped in poverty with limited access to education, and those who are undermined and undervalued. Scripture declares that women are strong, with great dignity; it is God’s desire that women should not fear the future but live with hope and joy.

Everyday AOA’s partners work with and support strong, resilient women who hold their families and communities together. In times of natural disasters, it is usually the women who will eat less or stay behind to care for loved ones. We each have a responsibility to ensure that these women who make great sacrifices are not oppressed or abandoned but supported to be all they were created to be.

Let’s celebrate these women and with love and generosity and continue to stand with them as we fight for the strength and dignity of all women around the world.

Paula (centre below) is a widow, working hard to support her four daughters and two sons and is a proud member of the Towards Abundant Life Savings Group in her community in Mozambique.

Paula struggled to afford to send her children to school, but her involvement with the Savings Group changed this. She is now able to make a living selling bread, and uses this to support her family and save for their future.

Can you help the thousands of women like Paula who are striving to improve the lives of their families?
