We are pleased to share that a new operating theatre has opened at Al-Ahli Arab Hospital, increasing its capacity to provide surgical care for people in Gaza.
The impact has already been remarkable!
Hospital Director Suhaila shares what this means for patients:
‘With this addition, the hospital now has four equipped operating rooms. The new theatre is dedicated to endoscopic (minimally invasive) surgeries. It has expanded our surgical services to provide safer, more advanced procedures for our patients.’

The need in Gaza is immense
In June alone, 624 urgent and elective surgeries were performed, reflecting the need for surgical care in Gaza and the additional capacity made possible by the new operating theatre.
While Anglican Overseas Aid did not fund the new theatre, generous donations through last year’s Christmas Appeal went towards salaries for doctors, nurses and other hospital staff.
This means Al-Ahli has the medical teams needed to use its operating theatres and deliver life-saving care.
Please continue to keep its staff and patients in your prayers.
Anglican Overseas Aid partners with The Episcopal Diocese of Jerusalem as it delivers medical care to those in Gaza, through the Al-Ahli Arab Hospital.
