Anglican Overseas Aid (AOA) is an overseas relief and development agency of the Anglican Church of Australia. We work to achieve a peaceful, just, and sustainable world free from poverty. We do this by walking with our like-minded partners to deliver grassroots community development projects in 11 countries across Africa, the Middle East, and the Asia-Pacific. And through our global networks, we have the reach to respond to emergencies all over the world.

We’re fully accredited by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and are a member of the Australian Council for International Development.

Who are we looking for? Program Manager – Quality and Innovation

Location: Collingwood, VIC with flexibility and remote applications welcome

Position: Permanent full-time (though part-time 0.6 or 0.8 FTE considered)

As a valued and well-supported member of the International Programs team, you’ll lead continuous improvement across our development and humanitarian programs. You’ll manage a discrete range of Pacific-focused development projects and partner relationships. You’ll also be able to look for new and innovative ways to extend our impact and effectiveness through our extensive partnerships and coalitions.

Alongside your relevant tertiary qualifications, you will have at least 3 years of international and/or community development experience. In addition, you have solid project management experience and understand the importance of robust design, risk, monitoring, and evaluation systems.

You display excellent interpersonal skills to work effectively in small teams and respectfully and knowledgeably in cross-cultural contexts. Several times a year, you’ll be able to travel internationally for short periods at times that work for you. Your personal ethos aligns with AOA’s faith-based work, and you’ll fully participate in the corporate and spiritual life of the organisation.

Experience with the Pacific region would be highly beneficial, as would understanding gender as a thematic area.

Flexible working arrangements

We offer whole of life-friendly flexible working arrangements. If you’re in Melbourne, you’ll spend at least some of your time in our incredible co-working space at ‘The Circle’ in Collingwood. If you’re located outside Melbourne or even somewhere in the Pacific, we’ll make sure we get to see you in person several times a year.
