Helping Ram get his medicines on time

11 September, 2017

Our Disability Inclusive Livelihoods Project in Uttarakhand, India trains people with disabilities to enable them to have opportunities for income generation for themselves or their families in the Uttarakhand region.

We are working there with Ram, a 16 year-old male, to enable him to work in agriculture to help support his family by participating in drying chillies.

Ram is an only child. He is autistic and needs to continually take medicine from a hospital which is almost 110 kilometres from his home.

If Ram is unable to get his medicine on time he sometimes becomes very aggressive and tears his clothes. The project is now helping him get his medicine from the hospital on time. As a result his symptoms are manageable.
