Dear Friends,
I have recently returned from Kenya where I was overwhelmed by the devastating impact the famine is having on the communities in our Imarisha Maisha project. Where once there was hope, the spreading famine threatens to steal these dreams.
Perhaps you have read my recent letter in which I shared my experience of meeting with Feli (whose achievements we had previously shared) and the immense hardship her community is experiencing. Visiting schools the week that our emergency three-month feeding program for over 48,000 children concluded, returning the community into acute hardship, was especially challenging.
Having experienced the famine first-hand, we can’t continue to do what we have always done. As one of our faithful supporters I know that with your help we can be there in this time of need. And at this time we simply cannot leave Feli, her family and thousands like her to fight this famine alone. You can be there.
Your gift will enable program manager Millicent and her team to provide urgent support to these communities and will help the vital Imarisha Maisha program to continue.
The proud Maasai people of Kenya are exhausted. Please give generously and please pray that the work already started will continue to transform the lives of people fighting desperately for the survival of their families.
Pray For the Imarisha Communities
- Pray for wisdom and vigilence in the communities to ensure that those in the gravest need are identified and supported.
- Pray for sustained rains to provide relief from the drought and save remaining livestock.
- Pray for Millicent and her team as they work tirelessly to support the communities.
- Pray for the protection and safety of women and children who are facing increased levels of vulnerability and violence.

It’s Desperate. It’s Urgent.
