Beaming Babies - $25

Here’s a bright bundle for Mother’s Day. Help shine a light for birth attendants to deliver newborn babies. These trained attendants perform miracles in the middle of remote parts of Africa, often on dirt floors with nothing but the moonlight. Shining Students - $30

Switch on this little ripper! Give the gift of a shinier future for a poor, yet determined student. Studying in Tanzania is extremely difficult. Most secondary students travel long distances to attend and often sleep at school. Students struggle to learn, study and be safe in classrooms and dormitories that have no electricity. Of those studying at home, very few have or can afford lighting. Many students use candles or kerosene lamps to study at night. Both are very dangerous, and kerosene is expensive. Their eyesight also suffers from the strain of poor quality light. Your gift of a solar lamp will help brighten the life of one student in Tanzania.
More Light = Safer Homes - $40

It’s a simple, yet confronting equation: more light = less violence against women and children. “Well-lit communities are safer communities” – this is what mothers and teachers in poor regions where we work are telling us. Unfortunately, sexual exploitation has a higher association with poverty and family disharmony issues. The Solomon Islands has only one Women’s Refuge, which shelters and heals abused women. Give life in a light bulb for an entire family. Two solar lights will give a Solomon Islander family a lasting glow. This set will help families safely cook dinner and provide light for everyone to study in the evening.

Here’s a beacon of hope for families who have lost everything during a natural disaster. Floods, tsunamis, cyclones and earthquakes often strip poor families of their few possessions. Help three families feel warm and safe with a solar light added to their emergency relief pack.
Business in a Bag - $150

Here’s a gift out of the bag! Training for an ambitious young person to learn basic business skills so they can sell solar lights to their own community. This package provides an innovative way to earn a basic income and leaves lasting skills for sparkling young futures in Africa and the Pacific. The gift includes training, then mentoring every three months, as well as a seller’s starter kit comprising promotional materials and at least six lights to sell.
Sparkling Classroom - $600

This is one that your parish, school or community group could fundraise for. Light an entire classroom in Tanzania with solar. You’ll help hundreds of little bright sparks study their way to a better future. Well-lit schools are safer schools, particularly for girls. Your gift will illuminate lives all day, and then through the night.
Solar 4 Schools - $2400

This is a great fundraiser for your parish, school, or community group. You could host a candlelit dinner or event, run a walking tour at night or hold part of your church service without lights to raise funds for this life changing gift. This gift will light an entire school! That’s four classrooms and four dormitories. Low-lit classrooms lead to poor literacy and strained, damaged eyes. Using candles and kerosene lamps in dormitories is dangerous. By day, your gift will bring light into the life of hundreds of these students. By night, you’re adding safety and learning opportunities for the students and teachers in Tanzania.
